6 Diabolically Dreadful Web Designs
Posted on 10. Sep, 2009 by Taiyab in Showcases
On the web, we like showcasing beautiful, inspirational design work – and why not? But, we tend to miss out the other side of things. Therefore, in the spirit of being unbiased, I thought it was only fair for me to compile this article as a counter to ‘6 Absolutely Stunning Design Portfolios‘ and call it ‘6 Diabolically Dreadful Web Designs’. Get ready to go back in time to the good ‘ol Angelfire/Freewebs days.
Caution: Eye protection is advised when viewing.

Can’t say all my design attempts -especially the first ones- were all good, but these are truly horrible. Nice post, though

Those sites are horrible.
I can’t believe that there were times when we the web looked like this.

Thanks for giving me a headache before I’ve even got through my cup of coffee!
… how did you find these gems? I’m amazed that the owners of these sites think that they are actually doing their site visitors a service (except sending them to the nearest padded room in sheer desperation).

Wah, Damien, you sound like messenger of the devil!
My site LINGsCARS is beautiful, not terrible. It is one of the most alive sites on the web. I have won awards and my website sells over £35million (that’s $50million+) of new cars a year through that single route to market.
What you all want, boring maccified sites with 10px grey text everywhere like…. this one?
Everyone’s socialist web attitudes make me wonder if any of you “designers” will ever break out of conventional thinking?
My website leads the automotive industry in the UK. No other leasing company has more visits, more life, more energy or more noodles.

Actually, I will add that a Blitish designer forum ran a competition for a prize of approx UKP£250 to redesign my website. There were 4 credible designs. I show them here: http://www.lingscars.com/news.php#designerstalk but that is BIG page – wait to load and find named anchor.
Last month I put me with an AK47 on my index page – pageviews have doubled to over 1m. The gun stays. Bang Bang.

I think Paperrad is deliberate….pretty cool though!
MSY Tech just seems to be a lack of knowledge that has produced this.

http://www.lingscars.com/ is the shittest website I’ve ever seen, I don’t know how you get ANY business! The site looks as if was designed before the start of the WWW in 1989!
I think the reason you are thinking you are making money is because of what Theo Paphitus said, you don’t keep a book, you probably dreamt that figure up! And Peter Jones was right, your lack of business skill is terrifying, especially with a website like that!

Re The Above ‘Anonymous’ Quote: “Seriously I don’t want to say my name but these are nothing compared to this design who claims to be professional :”
Don’t want to say your name eh? We can probably guess it, – signing y’self as us was the give away. See ya round wee man…
As for professional, given the very large client base (including some very large industrial clients) we have, your comment is at odds with the reality. Feedback from our clients is very positive and most of our work comes from client recommendations.
But if you, mr anonymous, are so-o-o-o good, lets have a URL to your latest production. It wouldn’t happen to be yuet another purple template by any chance would it? Hand built (sic) by Trellians web builder?
Laugh? I thought we’d never start. FOAD laddie.
